Constitutional law expert Page Pate is quoted by CNN in the story of Jeffrey Wood’s recent stay of execution by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Wood was the driver in a 1996 gas station robbery during which his partner killed the store clerk. As Pate explained, “… Wood’s team is thinking along the correct lines by arguing in the latest clemency petition that Wood was a party to the crime and there was a lack of intent to kill.”
