Page PatePage Pate is an accomplished Georgia trial lawyer. He has been recognized by Georgia Trend Magazine as a member of “Georgia’s Legal Elite” for the last several years. He has also been named to the list of Georgia Super Lawyers for the past four consecutive years.

Page previously served as the Chairman of the Criminal Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association, and he has received the highest possible rating from other lawyers and judges (AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell). According to Martindale-Hubbell, this rating recognizes lawyers who have “reached the height of professional excellence. [The lawyer] has usually practiced law for many years, and is recognized for the highest levels of skill and integrity.” Page was also recently included in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, a national publication known as “The Definitive Guide to the Most Distinguished Law Firms in America for over 90 years.”

Prior to starting our law firm, Page was a lawyer with two of Atlanta’s largest and most prestigious law firms – Smith, Gambrell & Russell and Jones Day. Page is a founding member of the Georgia Innocence Project, and has been a board member of the Criminal Law section of the Atlanta Bar Association for several years. Page is also an active member of the Federal Bar Association, the Georgia and National Associations of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.

Page is often asked to speak at trial practice seminars to share his knowledge and experience with other lawyers in Georgia. Page has been a panelist at the ICLE seminar for Federal Criminal Practice where he has spoken on federal sentencing and recent developments in federal criminal law. Page has also lectured at the annual seminar for the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, where he spoke to other defense lawyers about recent developments in federal and state computer crime cases.

Page serves as the Legal Analyst for WABE FM 90.1, the Atlanta National Public Radio (NPR) affiliate, and he often provides his analysis of legal issues in Georgia on the morning and afternoon news shows.

Page graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award for Advocacy. He was the top advocate in several moot court competitions and was elected into the Order of Barristers. Page received his undergraduate degree from Georgia State University where he graduated magna cum laude and was awarded the Phi Beta Kappa scholarship award for being in the top ten percent of his graduating class.

Page is a member of the bar of the United States Supreme Court, the Fourth, Fifth, Seventh and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal, the Supreme Court of Georgia, and the Georgia Court of Appeals. Page has won or successfully resolved criminal cases in the metro areas of Atlanta, Macon, Augusta, Savannah, Athens, Columbus, Rome, Gainesville, and in over 50 different counties in Georgia. Page has also successfully handled federal cases in many other states, including Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, Florida, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Missouri, New Mexico, and Virginia. He has also helped resolve international criminal disputes in Great Britain, Ireland, The Bahamas, and Spain.

Jess Johnson

Jess JohnsonJess Johnson graduated first in his class from the University of Georgia in 2006, where he attained degrees in political science and sociology. He then graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2009. During law school, Jess focused primarily on trial advocacy and criminal defense. As a third year law student, he was elected to the Mock Trial Executive Board and was a member of three different mock trial teams.

Jess was also heavily involved in UGA’s Criminal Defense Clinic where he represented indigent clients accused of serious crimes in the Superior Court of Athens–Clarke County. Prior to joining The Pate Law Firm, Jess worked for an Athens personal injury firm which focused on negligence claims as well as victims’ rights. Today, he remains committed to helping people who have been charged with crimes or harmed due to the negligence of others.

Harry D. Dixon Jr.

Harry D. “Donnie” Dixon, Jr. is “of counsel” to the firm and our resident attorney in Savannah. Donnie concentrates on serious criminal cases and grand jury investigations, and also assists our clients in major civil litigation.

Donnie is one of the most experienced and respected advocates in Georgia. Donnie served as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia (the top federal prosecutor in South Georgia) for most of the Clinton Administration. As United States Attorney, Donnie was appointed to the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee, and served on the Office of Management and Budget Subcommittee, the Environmental Crimes Subcommittee, the White Collar Crimes Subcommittee, the Healthcare Fraud Subcommittee, and the Executive Working Group. Before being appointed U.S. Attorney by President Clinton, Donnie was the District Attorney in Waycross, Georgia where he prosecuted hundreds of serious felony criminal cases.

Donnie is a graduate of the University Of Georgia School Of Law, and has practiced criminal and civil law in Georgia for over 30 years. He is a member of the National Association of Former United States Attorneys, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Savannah Bar Association, the Savannah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the American Bar Association.
